To be honest, I have difficulties recognizing the other reviews about rude employees. Yes, there are many rules but I can understand that for a public library. I needed inscription and pass to get in but it was fixed within 10 minutes and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
A lot of rules, but if you get through them all it is a wonderful space. Great atmosphere for learning. Don't forget your 2 x 2 euro coins for the lockers, it is a must have.

Very quiet place for studying, I would say the only problem is that you can’t get anything even water inside to eat! So must come out every few hours to drink or eat something
They dont deserve any star! Very rude and unfriendly employees in the front desk/entrance. There is no sign to anything that isnt allowed. My friends and I quietly enter the library we talked quietly and the security came to us and said that private conversations is not allowed??? WTH where is the sense. I have been to many libraries in Germany but this one doesnt make any sense its so stupid with the rules and the rude employees. National library in frankfurt deserve a better employees.
Top and very good books to read
A good place to study. It is a three flour area with many tables. There is security so it is very calm there even though there are normally many students.
Aggressive and impolite women at the security in the lobby- There are no signs of interdiction to pass a phone call in the whole lobby and people can indeed walk in that part of the lobby. She rudely interrupted me harshly to tell me I was not allowed to walk in that perimeter of the lobby while I was on the phone. I was standing up at 2.50 m away from the counter she was seating at, so not that I was staring at her in front of the counter.
She insulted me in English afterwards. I would like to say this is UNACCEPTABLE for a German National Library!!!! It is a shame for Germany the way people treat people in public places!!!
